ISSOL ARCHI
PHOTOVOLTAIC TECHNOLOGY ACTING AS A NEW ARCHITECTURAL FUNCTION
ISSOLArchi, the design, fabrication and construction of integrated architectural projects where photovoltaic technology becomes an active construction material.
Architectural integration
ISSOL ARCHI develops «Building Integrated Photovoltaic» or BIPV projects where active glasses are being used as conventional construction materials.
Photovoltaic active materials are playing a double function: electricity production and architectural function. They replace non active material of the building. Without this photovoltaic material, the building would not be operative. It would loose properties like waterproofness or insolation.
The double function is the main characteristic of Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV).
Building element is any of the components of the building envelope (roof-covering, skylights, facades, curtain-walls, cladding or window-sills), sun protections (sun-shades) and any other architectural element needed for the good building performances.
